AhlulBayt News Agency: A senior Palestinian health official has issued a dire warning about the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, stating that the population is suffering from severe starvation and facing an inevitable famine. He urged the international community to intervene and put an end to the ongoing Israeli war of genocide and deprivation.
Marwan al-Hams, director of the field hospitals in Gaza, described the situation as catastrophic, emphasizing that essential supplies are nearly depleted. “We are powerless—there is no infant formula for children, nor medicine for pregnant women,” he stated in press remarks on Sunday.
In an urgent appeal to the world, al-Hams called for immediate action to save the people of Gaza from genocide and starvation. “We want to live in peace, just like any other people in the world,” he added.
He also warned that fuel supplies at hospitals, which are critical for running power generators, will only last for three more days, further endangering the lives of patients.
Earlier, the Government Media Office (GMO) cautioned that “the Gaza Strip is teetering on the edge of mass deaths due to the escalating famine.”
“The famine is spreading, with over a million children at extreme risk, while vital sectors are collapsing under a suffocating blockade and shameful international silence,” the GMO stated.
